O suicídio da influenciadora social norte-americana Dazharia Shaffer, de 18 anos, trouxe muita tristeza para os pais e fãs da jovem. Conhecida nas redes sociais pelo apelido “Dee”, a celebridade tinha mais de 1,4 milhão de seguidores no Tik Tok.
Segundo o que foi noticiado pela revista People e pela emissora Fox News, a adolescente também tinha milhares de seguidores no Instagram e no YouTube, onde documentava sua vida e realizava os desafios da moda.

“Eu só queria que ela tivesse falado comigo sobre seu estresse e os pensamentos de suicídio. Poderíamos ter trabalhado nisso”, afirmou o pai de Shaffer, Joseph Santiago.
Assim, embora ela transmitisse a imagem de uma jovem feliz e enturmada, seus familiares lamentaram que não puderam ajudá-la. “A depressão é uma irmã real, mas nunca, em um milhão de anos, pensei que ela sofresse disso. Em seus vídeos, ela parecia ter tudo sob controle”, comentou um seguidor de Dazharia Shaffer.
O suicídio é a segunda principal causa de morte entre jovens, com idades entre 15 e 24 anos. Nem sempre é fácil identificar os sinais de alerta ou saber a melhor forma de falar e apoiar uma criança ou jovem que passa por uma crise de saúde mental. Mas, especialistas reforçam que todo excesso esconde uma falta, ou seja, tudo que foge do equillíbrio pode revelar uma descompensação emocional.

Basta observar a necessidade de autopromoção, a busca da fama a qualquer preço, o uso de cirurgias e procedimentos em busca de impedir o envelhecimento, o consumismo galopante. Isso tudo sem falar do egoísmo nas relações que se caracteriza quando alguém usa outras pessoas em benefício de si mesmo, se acha superior e faz de tudo (tudo mesmo) para se sobressair…
É aquele indivíduo que pergunta algo e, quando o outro vai responder nem ouve, logo corta, para falar dele mesmo, mostrando que não está nem aí.
Dessa forma, acredito que em uma era onde muitos mendigam por likes, fazem de tudo por seguidores (até compram, pasmem!), clamando por atenção para alimentar o ego, é extremamente necessário falar sobre isso.
É preciso, como nunca antes, saber diferenciar autoestima de egocentrismo. Enquanto um faz a pessoa florescer o outro leva à uma cegueira sobre si e à solidão.
